Our Mission

Through a carefully planned play-based approach, CMNS strives to provide an opportunity for each child to grow socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually.

History

Founded in 1963, Central Methodist Nursery School (CMNS) has proudly served the Stockton area, providing a nurturing environment where preschoolers can meet, play, and grow through a developmentally appropriate program. Our journey began with a group of passionate pioneers at Central United Methodist Church, who recognized the need for a dedicated space for young children to explore and learn.

From the outset, these visionaries believed that play is not only a fundamental activity for children but also the most effective way for them to engage with and understand the world around them. This philosophy remains at the heart of CMNS, as we strive to create programs that prioritize the joy of play, allowing children the freedom to be themselves.

Although our curriculum is non-religious, we are dedicated to instilling values of good citizenship, respect for oneself, and empathy for others. At CMNS, we are committed to nurturing the whole child and preparing them for a bright future, grounded in kindness and community.

Join us in celebrating our history and the countless children who have flourished in our care!
